I believe it's a combination of both... mostly just that there are better prospects out there.

A name that's new to me is Jameel Owens, #4 WR in the country & could round out our WR class (with Tolliver & Brown).

I really like this guy. I accidentally watched his film while trying to click on someone else a few weeks ago, and he is huge but has speed.

Update for CParso. Butler committed to USC on Saturday. In the last 2 weeks the rumors were very hot that he'd be a Nole particularly since his dad played there and his mom is also an alum. The surprise for me was his comment that FSU wasn't really in it. Had it not been for a surprisingly good visit to SoCal, he said he was definitely headed for LSU. The Noles are now hard after Surrency and Walker.

Looks like all we have to do is beat out Florida State in order to get Corey Surrency.

I think Corey is ours if we really want him, but we may have backed off the idea of taking a JUCO WR.

anybody think we could hope in the recruiting race for former USC WR Jamere Holland and he also runs track what could be a plus since we have one of the top track programs also other football players run track also. Also would he have to sit out a year eventhough he redshirted last year?

LSU doesn't pursue transfers. We get very few, and they are almost always guys from Louisiana that want to come back home.

He was dismissed from the team. However, he has not announced any decision to leave school and his scholarship is being held for him. My guess? He's been injury prone since day 1 and may be starting to think that football isn't for him. He may just try to get healthy and run Track at SC. Or he'll xfer but we'll have to wait and see. He's a good one with just a run of bad luck on the field.

Also the WR position is not one we need to pursue an oft-injured, dismissed, WR that has to sit out a year. We have some good WRs in the pipelines that will not miss a year, are not injured, and don't have question marks surrounding them.
