What's the story on Benton? Most Bama fans I know think he will be going there after he goes to Prep/Juco. Just wondering what the rumor is. Thanks in advance.
Bama fans think that they have an in with him, but Benton wasn't to fond of Saban's recruitment last year. Saban said he should leave the state etc, and he asked him why when a couple years ago he said how important it was to stay in-state & represent Louisiana. Benton is ours if we want him.
You should laugh in their face Tigerbait3...there is zero chance Benton ends up at Bama. He is 110% LSU, an unwaivering commit - and he is so good we will definately accept his commitment again after he gets qualified.
I guarantee you he'll give you some sleepless nights between now and signing day. I'm not saying you won't keep him, but I promise you Bobby isn't giving up on him.
He'll come in and compete immediately wherever he goes. Honestly, if he was entering LSU right now, he'd probably be an even-money bet to be in our top 3 THIS YEAR. He'd be behind Early, but he'd give Lafell a run for the #2 spot, and he'd likely be ahead of any true freshman we have. The kid is awesome. Best WR talent to come along in years.

Does anyone know why we haven't offered Laron Byrd? Is it grades, etc., or do we just disagree with the rating services and feel we can do better?
