I've had 2 of my buddies talk to him (one is a Bama fan). He is saying that he is leaning slightly toward LSU.
Coach Les Miles was in Ocean Springs, Ms on Friday. He was looking closely at DeAndre. CLM was very impressed with DeAndre's build. An Ocean Springs coach told me that DeAndre likes CLM and LSU, however DeAndre still says that he just wants to play for an SEC school and is open to play for any school in the conference. Kentucky, of all schools, is recruiting him hard, but I'm told that LSU is Deandre's favorite, if in fact he had to chose one. I'm told that if he doesn't chose LSU, that he is also pretty interested in Auburn and Auburn is recruiting the hell out of him, too. I was glad to see that Coach Les Miles was out pounding the pavement and getting into the mix. TE Richard Dickson is also from Ocean Springs, MS and he is in DeAndre's ear, too. I'll keep ya'll posted.:thumb:
Forgot to mention that coach Urban Meyer was in Ocean Springs in person to pay DeAndre Brown a visit last week as well. A coach from Mississippi State also showed up. Edit: I just heard that Nick Saban will be in Ocean Springs tomorrow May 8th.
DeAndre Brown I knew he was tall, but 6 foot 6 and one half inches for a WR! A kid listed as 222 lbs with a 4.52 forty with that height could be quite a weapon. I'm glad most think he is high on LSU. Some people like to turn anyone that tall into a TE, but if his 40 is close to what is reported, it would be nice to see him matched up on a small cornerback.
I went to the Ocean Springs Vs Biloxi game Friday night. I brought my kids. I stood next to DeAndre before the game. THIS KID IS A HOSS. I've met a ton of professional athletes, and this kid is WAY bigger than alot of the pros that I've rubbed elbows with. I had to leave the game just after halftime b/c my 2 year old boy, Lil' Deuce, blew chunks in the stands....but that's a different story. DeAndre Brown runs like a deer. His strides are very long. He is VERY fast. No one on the field was anywhere near his talent level. He literally looked like a man among boys. He caught about a 25 yard TD in the first half. He ran a kick back in the 2nd half (right before I left) for over 60 yards. I still have no idea why they don't just throw to him every single down. His numbers don't show how much of an athlete this kid is. The hype is real. DeAndre Brown is nasty. I hope he gets his grades up. I'm told by a coach that he will go to LSU if he can get his grades in order. If he does, getcha popcorn ready......
Next time you see him, please tell him directly that we need him badly, despite what the other schools' coaches will tell him. All he needs to do is look at how many dropped balls we have had. We have Byrd, who is only here 1 more year, and Toliver as WRs who have proven to be reliable. That leaves a lot of room for a guy like Deandre to come in and pick up immediate playing time. Of course his buddy Dickson has the best hands on the team...that would be cool to see those two playing next to each other again.
