I don't think anyone is particularly upset by this. I don't think Bell was ever going to be a difference-maker here.
I think you are more than right about this Parso. If Bama is happy about this guy just for the numbers and the fact that they wanted him just to prove a point. By all means let them take him. We have the better class imo.
Re: Kenny Bell at the beginning I was never sold on Bell and always wanted Brown over him. He was to similar to Chris and not as good.
No real loss with this kid. Didn't really fill a need anyway. Our receiving corps is already beast. He woulda just been cheerleading the next few years anyway.
The real loss at WR was Benton, who was every bit as talented as Randle. Bell may do quite well at Bama opposite Jones. But if he redshirts, then that leaves him only his redshirt freshman year to play alongside him, as Julio Jones will bolt after 3 years.
Look at our depth chart heading into '09: LaFell, Sr. T. Tolliver, Jr. R. Randle, Fr T. Holliday, Sr C. Tolliver, RS Fresh C. Mitchell, Sr. J. Taylor, RS Fresh T. Molden, RS Fresh RJ Jackson, Sr. D. Peterson, Soph. J. Mitchell, Sr (if he decides to play football) Where does KB see the field before 2011-2012...and that's without considering we're going to be targeting WR's again in 2010. John Williams D. Peterson
Good post AB. As good as Chris Toliver is, Molton appears to be ahead of him at this point. Peterson appears to be ready to possibly break through in 2009 as well. Depth is not an issue whatsover at the wideout position.
