I hope Bastrop coaches know the situation if that is all true and aren't pissed at the LSU coaches...

Yep lets hope RR was worth letting BENTON and BELL go.

:geaux: Out of all our prospects he is the one I most figured would bail. And he has. Don't know why or what advantage he thought 'Bama has over LSU. He'll have competition there just as he would at LSU. Still when it actually happens it's still surprising. We'll be fine though and Loston, Peterson and Jones will have another target.:thumb: Good luck but always remember that you're now: Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait!!!!! :LSU231:

With all due respect to Benton, lets remember he is only around for one or two years if he becomes eligible at all. For all intents and purposes, he is basically a JUCO player without the JUCO experience. I hope he does well, but I had no problems with giving him and Bell for Randle.

They aren't. LSU will still be more than welcome...but I don't expect them to be around too much next year. The cupboard is bare for the BHS class of '10. There are a few who will see some small school action. Actually, I don't expect LSU to be frequent visitors for a couple years. Jevante will be a good one, but there's a question of whether the offense will be good enough to really showcase him, and unless someone else emerges, he's it for his class. He's a 15 YO sophomore, and is already 6'0 and about 170 with very good speed. Had a very good year at RB and WR. Frame looks like he could put on a couple more inches so they're projecting WR, but I wouldn't be surprised if he spent more time at RB for the next two years with the offense becoming more run oriented.

The freshman class and the 7th and 8th graders have some studs with good pedigrees for size, so I'm expecting big things from them in a few years if the town can keep people in Bastrop after the mill closing.
