Re: Kenny Bell is a TIGER! I too have to wonder if the LSU coaching staff has turned cold on Bell, knowing Benton is gonna qualify and probably feel "great" about Randle. I never did see us getting 4 WRs in this class. That always baffled me. Add on to the fact that both Claiborne and Calhoun could easily project to WR and gives us more flexibility at that position, you can easily see why Bell might be left out. And it would make sense for Bell to turn to Bama to piss LSU off and of course Saban has probably been after him as well, trying to get a foothold and piss LSU off.

However, in my business we deal with HS coaches every day.You dont want to offer a kid and accept his commit then go cold. Nothing pisses off HS coaches more. Miles has been extremely good at the difficult balancing act of issuing offers and accepting commitments. I dont think it would matter as much to an out of state kid but we dont need to be making a practice of it in state. The warm fuzzy welcome you receive at that high school in the future may not be as pleasant again. We dont know that LSU has gone cold on Bell but something seems amiss.

Re: Kenny Bell is a TIGER! Something is going on at Bama as well. Once considered lock to Bama, WR Kelly, is not so much a lock as everyone thinks now. Maybe the reason they are hard on Bell right now. Rumors lately are making a big deal about the HS scandal in Alabama last year. He apparently is from one of those schools but I am not so sure about all that BS.

There is no question the gump backers are in full press mode these days. I wish something would come up about it but from what I see and hear is layered so deep proving wrong doing would be difficult. In other words, they cover their azz well. Aub is also a player in Gadsden so if the gumps screw Kelly it wont sit well with their coaches and fans. Half their coaching staff are Aub fans.

That would soften the blow wouldn't it! :lol: There are obviously issues regarding Bell and I feel the staff is pretty confident with the other options on the board. I don't think Bell is even considering visiting anywhere else unless there were some strong hints about other WR's who are coming in. Could be wrong about that, but I can't think of any other reason why Bell would take a chance on throwing away a free ride to LSU. It ain't just a supposed love affair with Saban/Bama. There's more here than meets the eye. Guess we'll all have to wait and see how it plays out, but when the dust settles I believe LSU is going to be just fine with WR's in this class.
