Re: Benton signs with Auburn per Rivals Radio On the contrary, we fully realize how good Benton is, but most AU fans felt like we got in on Benton too late to have a legitimate shot at signing him. Personally, I feel he is a better prospect than Randle, but that's mostly based on what I've read and his videos..... haven't seen him play live. Color me shocked at benton's decision. I really feel like LaFell's decision played a major role in this, but that's just my swag. Auburn also picked up a big WR commitment from Emory Blake in texas.

He sees the opportunity at Auburn with ZERO competition and thinks he can make a name for himself quickly then springboard to the NFL in a year. Too much great competition at LSU.

Guys I think this might've been where LSU got a couple surprises today...so someone had to go. So it could be mutual interest in both...plus help LSU with Randle's chances. Montgomery was completely out of right field. TR could be coming here too or Jones... On hindsight, this would be horrible if RR didn't pick us...
