Re: DeAngelo Benton If that's the case, I don't want the guy. If he doesn't have enough sense not to do that after everything LSU has done for him then he can be out on his ass for all I care.
I think we can officially put to bed the Miles policy of telling recruits not to visit after they commit. It was kind of an iffy policy anyway with the way kids are acting this day and time.
Hard to pass up a weekend of being treated extra special, steak dinners, etc. for anyone - much less a high school kid. Not all dates end up in the sack... :geaux:
Still, I think he owes it to the LSU staff out of respect to ask them if not at least let them know. LSU has guided him and stood by him for 2 years. I think Randle and the other top WR recruits are making him nervous.
i know its a free visit but i cant even see why anyone would want to go to Auburn after the stupid coaching decisions they made this offseason
I heard he was escorted out.. that'd be hilarious. If that's what happened.. I do commend him for not leading them on if this is the case.
So he didn't make the full weekend? Well that explains it. I was trying to figure out how he went to Auburn over the weekend when he was out in Bastrop late Saturday night. I didn't want to flat-out say the rumor was false that he went to Auburn (I almost did but didn't submit the post) because I saw him with my own eyes this weekend. This makes more sense.
http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/38437669.html?showAll=y&c=y Bastrop coach Brad Bradshaw said DeAngelo Benton, a two-time LSU signee, is close to becoming academically qualified and expects him to sign with the Tigers again next week. The LSU Tigers, that is. Benton took a recruiting trip to Auburn this past weekend, a decision that didn’t sit well with his old coach. “I think he might be listening to the wrong people,” Bradshaw said. “Not very smart in my opinion.” Benton is a former teammate of Randle’s. The two starred in the receiving corps for Bastrop when the Rams won the Class 4A state title in 2006, Benton’s senior season. He later played at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia. He continues trying to get his academics in order. Bradshaw said Auburn’s name surfaced in Benton’s recruitment only a couple of weeks ago. “I called Auburn and told them to leave him alone,” the coach said. “They obviously didn’t listen to me.”
