I think that's the thought here. So in a way you could say he had a spot "reserved" if he was told that since they would in essence save a scholly for him when he got qualified, which is exactly what LSU is doing for him this year. :LSU231:

And no the scholarship did not go unused, but don't pretend that his spot was not reserved with the expectation of making the grade. Hence changing the way Miles offers and signs other recruits. It's not that difficult to grasp. You may have a vested interest in this kid personally and that's great, but don't act as if LSU has not extended themselves in this situation. They could have easily said screw it and moved on after this last spring, but they did not, and it's not because no other hugely talented WR does not want to come here. It's his prerogative to look and go where he pleases, but after this length of time and LSU not wavering, it will be exactly what I said it was if he chooses another school. A slap in the face. Reported attitudes of the coaching staff indicates they are not pleased, so I will stick to what I said.

And to take the LSU vs Michigan thing further, regarding opportunity at a successful college career as a WR: LSU >>> Michigan Chris Henry is the only receiver ever drafted in the NFL under Coach Rodriguez. He's a marginal player at the NFL level. Michigan will not be a place for receivers to go to as long as Rodriguez is there.

Re: DeAngelo Benton - what ever happened to him? He soon realized that this wasn't so smart of an idea, as harmless as he may have thought it would be. Meeting up with his homie DaQuinta Jones and getting a free trip like you said. Wrong. We haven't invested 3 years in this kid for nothing.
