Here is a tidbit that gives LSU a glimmer of hope to steal Debose away.

CUM told Debose this week that Coach Billy Gonzales (Recruiting Coordinator/WR coach) would not be leaving the staff for a job with Tenn. As of now Gonzales is still a candidate to take a job there.

LSU is thought to still be his next option if Debose is not satisfied with the coaching change.

Debose also told Shannon that he would give Miami an official even though he was committing to Florida.

I believe he stays in Florida. He may have said distance isn't an issue but it is.

I agree distance has played a factor and would still be an obstacle but wanted to point out how it is not over with Debose.

Sources from last night said that LSU would be the frontrunner if he changes his mind on UF, FWIW.

Mike S is saying that it isn't over with DeBose. He apparently wanted to delay his commitment, but his hand was forced. An LSU coach has gone to visit him & this will likely go down to NSD.

I still expect DeBose to end up at UF, but I'm not writing him off completely.

Also, since I wasn't able to watch the game, what did he say about leaving the state?

What does that mean exactly, his hand was forced?

Don't know any really. Apparently ESPN just told him that since they had hyped up his announcement he had to go threw with it.

When it took until the 4th quarter to do it, the thought came in my mind that this kid just doesn't look ready to announce and that maybe he wouldn't.

Dangit! I actually spelled it that way first but didn't think it looked right... oh well. Looking at it now, "threw" is so obviously wrong...

    Re: Andre DeBose

He really didn't say much about staying in state..something like "well I'm not leaving Florida so.." and the announcer guy cut him off and was like "SO WE CAN THROW OUT THESE RIGHT?!?"
