Re: Andre DeBose

Feel pretty good about this guy committing to us. Florida posters are already starting the rumors that his grades are not in order, act/sat problems, etc. Basically saying if he doesn't commit to FL, it was because he could not qualify. Starting to sound like TX fans with the accusations of dumb kids, bad kids, LSU paid the kids, or Miles straight up lied to the kids. Eerily similar to PP last year.

It would be nice to have a player like that to be sure. Holiday has the afterburner, but I have never thought he had the elusive moves. Picturing a backfield of Shepard, Ford, Pratt, with Debose in motion, and God only knows who lined up out wide.

Hate to be a linebacker on that play...

That DB that Debose beat on the game-winning TD is a Rivals 3-star that has offers from Florida and Miami. He might end up playing in the Gator secondary and having to defend Debose again.

Great pic John, but I wish someone would have captured it as the DB had it in his hands first with Debose trying to pull it away from him. That would have been an awesome pic.

Here is what a poster said about Debose (a writer from tigersportszone.net):

"When I was down in Gainesville for our game, Florida had a ton of recruits at the game. Anyway, prior to the game, the recruits were out on the field and Les Miles walked out...Coach Miles didn't go over and talk to any of them but there was one kid who waived at him and Miles gave him the approving head nod with a "wink" This was the only kid he made eye contact with.

The recruit stared at Miles and watched his every move with total admiration...this is no exaggeration guys, TOTAL ADMIRATION! Since we dont cover recruiting, I had no idea who the kid was...I later found out it was Debose."

Also, remember the kid wrote a frickin term paper about our coach.

He loves him some Les Miles. I don't blame him.

What the hell does Miles do to charm kids so much? Certainly knows how to recruit. Just as Saban/Meyer negative recruit better than anyone, I think Miles is the complete opposite, yet is a equal recruiter. I also think this is why Debose never seemed to be crazy about CUM. I really hope his dickheadish approach from everything to recruiting, to throwing his players under the bus finally bite him in the ass with Debose. I swear to god, Meyer reminds me of my HS coach and looks EXACTLY like him

Re: Andre DeBose

A DD reader submitted a nice comment on Debose:

I decided to watch the Fl state title game last night. This guy is unbelieveable. ... this is the best high school football player I have ever seen. They beat Northwestern of Miami who was undefeated State champ last year. They were down 21-0 and won 28-21. Debose played QB, RB, and WR and scored 3 TDs, 1 from each position. The catch he made with about 33 seconds left for about 40 yard TD would qualify as the catch of the year whether it be college, NFL or high school. I mean I still cant believe he caught the ball. He went up over the defender, pulled it out from the defenders hands, landed with his arms fully outstretched on his face and held on. We need to get this guy. ... If Randle is better than this guy then he is for sure the best in the nation.

Media raving about the DeBose catch:

Dubose wrestled the ball away from a Miami defender as both players fell to the ground in the end zone, making a miraculous catch to seal the victory.
-USA Today

Five-star Andre Debose finished the game with 184 total yards (65 rushing, 51 receiving, and 68 in the return game) and three touchdowns -- including a game-winner with about 30 seconds left that's as good a catch as you'll ever see at the high school level. Debose is strongly considering Miami along with Florida and LSU.
-Scout.com's Florida analyst Mike Bakas

Just an unbelievable catch. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen in a situation like that. Have I ever seen anyone do that with that much on the line? I don't know, how about Jerry Rice?
-Seminole coach Mike Cullison to the Miami Herald

If there is any justice in this world, Seminole’s Andre Debose will win an ESPY and his teammates will, too. ... no play was bigger than his 40-yard catch with 33 seconds left, an unbelievable grab over the Northwestern defensive back who had perfect coverage on the play.
