Re: Andre DeBose Is this a legit package deal? How many scholarships do we have left if we land RR, Myles and the Seminole Trio? Or would we not take Myles if we get Armstrong?
Re: Andre DeBose It's not out of the question as LSU is looking for another safety and DE, and that's Armstrong and Dye's positions. Dye is thought to be headed to LSU should he not be able to qualify at Miami. And his grades are borderline right now to get to Miami. I think the big question is Armstrong, and his size that may land him at LB or even TE. I am not sure if we have Armstrong as a "must take".
Re: Andre DeBose each player has only been able to take two official visits thus far -- Armstrong and DeBose to LSU and Georgia and Dye to LSU and Iowa State. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/umiami/2008/12/sanford-trio-ta.html
Re: Andre DeBose I don't know why but something tells me LSU doesn't get Debose or Dye and surprises a lot of people.
Re: Andre DeBose Debose is by no means a lock. And even though we expect him to announce LSU during the all-american game, it will be a long ass month waiting it out to see him call/fax in his LOI.
Re: Andre DeBose I just checked my Fox Sports station here in Florida and they are showing the Florida 6A championship game. I guess the Seminole team made the championship game and this is what they are showing. I will let you guys know.
Re: Andre DeBose From everything I've read from the start of there recruitment...all three are interested in LSU to some degree. All three have visited LSU at least twice...now I don't know of any recruits that do that, unless they really see themselves starting right away, in a system that they believe to be best for there talent. I strongly believe that its between LSU and Miami...at the beginning, there were dreaming of playing together in college, now there really breaking it down to "Whats best for them, individually". I see Debose wanting to play in Gary Crowton's offense, more than Miami's. If Russell Shepard and him really connect at the Under Armour Game, it might close the deal. Dyron Dye has the chance to start right away at LSU, in Miami...he'll have to watch from the sidelines. With Ray Ray, he's the most versatile of the three, so if the coaches wanted, he could play TE, LB, or FS.
Re: Andre DeBose Excellent post Lprimo. 100 % correct. Debose is the one that is foregoing the entire "let's all play together on teh same team" mantra and in exchange will do what's best for him. This means LSU. Dye appears to be simply a grades issue, and LSU will scoop him up if he doesn't qualify at Miami. If that appears to be the case and Dye decides to come to LSU on NSD, does that mean Armstrong would follow? That would be interesting.
Re: Andre DeBose Well, hes never seemed to be crazy about Florida, for whatever reason. I personally think its because his family doesn't like CUM, I know RR's family doesn't have Florida in consideration because of CUM. He just doesn't mold well with some recruits, hes a dick, you can see it on the sidelines and press conferences. Debose has always showed a lot of interest in Miami, as has all three. Would not surprise me the least if they all go there. Not like they're hurting for NFL prospects anyway. I was just thinking that maybe Debose is stringing LSU along, like a CUM dirty tactic. That is probably far fetched but don't put it past CUM. It just randomly popped in my head when I was watching his videos, he would always celebrate and get flags. Doesn't seem like hes a high character guy on the field and showboats too much, IMO...
