Not surprised at all about Copeland given his play toward the end of the season. He had that spot wrapped up before the Spring practices.

Hatcher moved to LB to start the Spring. Similar to the move of Harry Coleman the year before and I think works out nice given the young depth in the secondary.

Anthony Johnson did not start in any practices or scrimmages in the Spring. But he has a good shot to earn that spot in the fall but wouldn't be surprised if it took a few games to lock it down.

Lee in front of Mett is understandable given he is on a tight rope right now. Needs to give it his all in summer workouts and in the classroom.

Are the days of the prototypical FB at LSU gone for good? These oversized slow OL/DL are no threat to run the ball or catch a pass. In recent years they have had a hard time getting out of the RB's way. Does Mike Alstott have any college eligibility left?

speaking of wow if real, Moffitt just posted the LSU squat numbers (which is arguably the #1 lift for football training):

Great day of squatting for the Tigers! on Twitpic

Jordan Jefferson (6-5, 224) squats more than every other starter on our offense, including the entire starting offensive line, except Lonergan (6-4, 300), who only beat JJ by 5 lbs. JJ squats more than every RB on our roster, except for Ford (5-10, 207). JJ squats more than every TE and WR on our roster.

JJ also squats more than every DB on our roster (except Brooks, who beat JJ by 5 lbs). JJ squats more than every LB on our roster except for our two big guys: Minter (6-1, 235 ) and Baker (6-0 230). as for all the DL on our roster, only three of them could significantly beat JJ in the squat: Freak (6-3, 294), Brockers (6-6, 300), Edwards (6-5, 265) -- two more only beat JJ by 5 lbs: Montgomery (6-4, 245) and Logan (6-3, 280). as for all the OL on our roster, only three of them could significantly beat JJ in the squat: Davenport (6-4, 311), Washington (6'5, 315), Hebert (6-3, 280) -- one more only beat JJ by 5 lbs: Lonergan (6-4, 300)

you could also say the same thing about the impressive squat numbers of CB Ron Brooks (only 6-0, 179), who is pegged to be one of the two starting kickoff returners and he is supposed to have great speed

Perhaps. But, if you're not big at LB, you had BETTER be fast! ....and I believe we at least have the "fast"...

I don't buy into depth charts this early. Motivation for Minter???

Last year I believe. I remember reading during his recruitment out of high school that the staff liked his ability and versatility as both a rush end and OLB. Even stated back then that a move on the line was probable.

yea, I did some research on him and I guess he was DT moved to FB. I don't following recruiting all that well, but I guess there is good reason they made him move...

I hope I see bodies on the ground with our running game next year......

He played a lot of FB for LSU already and did just that.
