we have some small linebackers. Hatcher started at safety last year, and now we are moving him to MLB? is this only because Minter hasn't shown he can be a good QB of the defense, calling out the coverages, etc?
There are two positions that make me nervous this year. QB obviously because the last 3 years have been miserable at that position. And LB....
this is pretty awesome to see. Freak might very well turn out to be just as great of a DT as Patrick Peterson was CB
i'm disappointed Shep isn't in the mix at kick returner (i thought that would be where he shined the most), but i'm excited about these other guys, especially Claiborne and Mathieu. i didn't even know #7 was being considered for returner, which is awesome... and as for Claiborne, when he came out of high school i was hoping we'd put him on offense so i'm excited to see what he can do
Early days, it’s definitely preliminary. Most of the weights are identical to last year, implying that very little updating was done except for the numbers and year. We might see some 10 to 15 lb jumps for people like Francois and Hatcher. Anthony Johnson was here in the spring, so that's why the freakish freshman is the only one shown. Wherever is says -or- that means either one can be the starter. We'll get a better feel once practice starts, but it won't be until Monday August 29th when the first official depth chart is released. Still, the preliminary version raises some interesting questions…
I can't remember a defensive lineman starting game one of his true freshman year since A. J. Duhe in 1973.
