Let's go to the Cotton Bowl against A&M.

I agree that it would be beneficial to play a game in Dallas before we play Oregon there next year.

We could just call it the Mettenberger Bowl since that is the two schools he is choosing between. I know he will make his decision public before then, but let's give him a reason to know LSU is the better program.

Sounds like to me, everyone would be happiest if Bama goes to Cap One and LSU goes to Cotton. I mean ... the Cap had us last year ... I'm sure they'd like some new faces. Nobody here seems to want to go back. The Cotton wants us ... and we want the Cotton Bowl.

I see no reason for anyone to throw a fly into that ointment.

AND .. . I agree with others ... the Cotton Bowl will climb back up into the top bowls over time. I remember in the old days as well .. it was the Rose, Orange, Cotton and Peach Bowls .. that is what you wanted to watch. I don't even remember any of the other bowl games.

I never really cared about the Rose Bowl. As an SEC honk, we always watched the Sugar, Cotton, and the Orange. Those were the most prestigious bowls for SEC fans.

I don't remember anyone ever caring about the peach bowl. Rose, Cotton, Orange, and Sugar are the classics.

yep. Historically the most prestigious are the Rose and Cotton. How did the Cotton Bowl get left out of the BCS when they were deciding which bowls would be designated BCS bowls?

Arragant Texans sat around thinking about how great they were while all the other bowls were out campaigning to be part of the BCS.

Sorta, I would think more along the lines of those arrogant Texans don't think the BCS is big enough to be a part of Texas so they weren't about to let them label one of their bowls.
