If I knew Nebraska would be in the Cotton Bowl, I would like to see the Tigers finally beat them even though it's been a little over 2 decades since the Tigers have last played them!! Then again, it would be great to finally win a game at the Capitol One Bowl and against Michigan St would be a great game!
Cap One or Cotton, I think we'll get a great matchup that should we win will put us in the top 5-6 for the final polls, and maybe top 5 for next preseason.
I have to totally agree with you Red, first choice has to be Cap One bowl, then Cotton. Florida just so happens to be as fertile recruiting ground as Texas. Just a better bowl destination and greater exposure for the University. Besides, who wants to go to a bowl that is frequented by the likes of Ole Miss year in and year out?:geauxtige
I agree. If the Capital One bowl is played in the same stadium, it should be with the stipulation that NO high school state championships are played in the stadium prior to the Capital One bowl because the Bowl game should have absolutely the top priority in every area, so that the pitiful conditions from last year are not repeated. If the people who run this game have any credibility and want the experience from last year to be erased from the minds of every fan that witnessed huge clumps of turf coming up on every play, they should make sure things are done right, and not like a bunch of people with their heads up their you know whats.:dis:
They put in field turf this year. Meaning, we would be playing on basically the same surface that the Saints have in the Dome and the Cowboys have in Jerryworld and likely what the Tigers have in the indoor facility.
Has anyone thought that maybe the Cotton Bowl would be better so our players can get a feel for the field we are opening up on next year? I mean that place is amazing, and the shock and awe of Jerry World wouldn't exist when we play Oregon next year, because we would have already played there in the bowl game.
Nah, and if it came off as I was looking for that than I apologize, I was really meaning to only agree with you that I think it is a great reason.:thumb:
Weather is irrelevant. Ive been to the Sugar Bowl in the middle of a snowstorm and gotten stuck in BR because all the Mississippi bridges were shut down for half a day. I went to the Cap One Bowl last year in beautiful Orlando and it was not fun the 2nd half in my tshirt when it dropped from 72deg and rain to 50deg with drizzle. I also HATED the Cap one Bowl and I would not return this year after going last year. Every single person who I was with last year said they would not return to the Cap One Bowl. The stadium is in the ghetto, my friends who I tailgated with had to have security overnight at their RV because the bums wouldn't leave them alone. I will go to the Cotton Bowl for sure.
