Ole Piss has now beat them 2 years in a row, but seem to falter in a few other games keeping them out of Atlanta.
They have done well recruiting since Freeze arrived but can they sustain it? Guess we will see in the next two years since they will lose all those good juniors this year. I guess it's the same with auburn. Cyclical for most teams with other FBS teams in their state competing for recruits I suppose. Imagine if there was only one major program in Mississippi? Combine the top talent from both of their teams and you compete every single year.
Freeze is an alum of Ole Piss. Doubt he leaves. Wouldn't want him anyway. I would go for Fisher. I wasn't on this forum when he was OC here, but personally, I liked him. He has a taste of TS, and knows what LSU can be. Not sure he'll leave FSU, but if we would poach another school, I'd be fine with poaching FSU, and Fisher is a proven commodity now w/LSU ties. He would be a HR imo. Beyond that, I like the options others have mentioned, the Memphis and Houston coaches, but admittedly, I don't really know much detail about them. Fedora has taken a while to get going at UNC, but I suppose he would be a good choice.
I must says that I am a huge fan of Franklin's abilities as a coach. You're right on with your comment about his work at Vandy.
Bengal B made a good reply to my post pointing out we got DiNardo from there also. But I still would give him consideration.
The problem with Mullen is that other than the occasional win against Ole Miss he hasn't been able beat anyone in the SEC West. He does beat up on Vandy and Kentucky and there were a couple of wins against Florida but that's about it. Last year he finally got a couple of high profile wins against the SEC West but then they tanked at the end of the season. I also don't think you really improve our game day coaching decisions by hiring Mullen. A lot of my friends are State fans and they are as tired of Mullen as we are of Miles.
