Would losing to OLD Miss be considered the nastiest meltdown in LSU football history?

Not saying it’s going to happen but Nutt has nothing to lose perhaps going for 4th and 20’s in LSU territory, fake punts and field goals. Do not underestimate a dieing animal they might have some bite left. Considering where we are and where they are I would say YES. However thinking back any time we lost to Tulane might rank up there.

Of course it would. For the 2nd time in our history we are in complete control of our own destiny this late in the season to play for a national championship.
In 2007 we were also in this position and lost and got away with it when we lost to the hogs (Again)

So I would say BOTh games Arkansas and Ole Miss if we lose will be the most devastating loses in LSU history because it eliminates us from the ultimate goal.
If we lose to Arkansas we wont get away with it again.

But hopefully it does not happen.

I still put the Post Katrina Tennessee game up as the worst loss in my LSU history.
As those of us who lived through the misery of Katrina for us to lose like that and return home to no power and misery I am still messed up from that.

The loss to Tennessee in 59 was horrendous and cost that team their soul when we had to play rematch vs Ole Miss.

Then the Archie led comeback in 69 against the best LSU team in the Cholly Mac era was bad, really, really bad even though that was a good team. The players were so despondent after that and the Cotton Bowl fiasco that they voted not to accept the offer from a lesser bowl.

But a loss to OM this year would surely rank up there.

I don't think it would be a huge meltdown. It would be a loss to an SEC team. It can happen. They have players and we have players. Anything can happen.

What? You're overlooking Western Kentucky tomorrow night. It could happen but it won't. just like OM won't beat this team due to the character and "want" of this team. Now as far as Arkansas is concerned "not so fast my freind". We owe the pigs a good butt whipping and with all that is on the line with this game, I can't see a let down in any way.

No, Fang. Losing to 2-7 Ole Miss while we're in the midst of an undefeated season in which we're the clear cut #1 team in the land would be just peachy.

This team is too strong to lose to a dysfunctional team and program like that right now. Not trying to sound arrogant, but this would be tantamount to literally pissing it all away. I just can't see that happening here. Not against Ole Miss.

Agree with TigerFan90. The total loss of motivation for LSU to lose to Ole Miss would be so unlikely that it would be more believable that our 22 starters would grab Katanas and commit group ritual HaraKiri on the playing field--simultaneously.

Don't bother to bring the body bags--ain't nothing bad gonna happen!

    Repeat after me:

    EPIC.....LEGENDARY.....HISTORIC.....:crystal:
