Who has it? JJ or CLM? Looking at the t.v. screen it looks like JJ has that confusion which afflicted JL last year. But what the t.v. doesn't visually depict is the transferance of Les Miles' confusion to another one of his QBs. One thing is constant from last year: LSU's QB has the blind stare of confusion, but is the underlying problem coming from the head coach? I think so. I can't see another national football power with anything like the talent of LSU having such a disastrous development at the QB position. Last year Miles stuck with JL until he finally, after losing some winnable games found help from a scrambler(JJ), and this year he's sticking with JJ well past time to let someone else help: either RS, JL or Garrett. BACK IN THE DAY, there would have been more "help Mac Pack" parties than you could shake a stick at, and it is beginning to look as if it will take some "Help Les Leave" parties to get someone serious about using the talent and tools on this top-ten team. Is there no one CLM can talk to for coaching advice? Does he not see some options within the ranks of this team? Surely there is a solution to the demise of LSU's offense. :geauxtige
I just don't know where all this will stop. What I mean is, I only pray we don't have to "break in" ANOTHER inexperienced QB and am hoping the two with some experience can compliment one another with a sprinkle of RS. Thinking about your suggestion really and honestly gives me a headache worrying that it could happen but hopefully it doesn't.
We need to stick with JJ and open up the offense and give him a fighting chance at succeeding. It's time to instill some confidence in him and stop telling him to play it safe.
Please consider this instead: 1. Don't imagine that we know more than Les Miles 2. Don't imagine that Les doesn't see things that we dont. 3. Don't try to "help Les Pack". Les is going nowhere, Pancho.
Just out of curiosity how many of those do you have to draw on? Just when I think I've seen 'em all you come up with Pancho.
I agree with your comments. It's almost like we are trying to not duplicate the errors of last year... to a fault.
i agree with this but i also think we should get rid of the 5 wide crap, and go back to a simplified run heavy offense, we must establish the run, if don't establish the run we are doing JJ no favors. I am all for letting Jefferson throw it, but i think that LSU needs to smack some people around with some heavy doses of Charles Scott, some designed Jefferson runs, some R Shep runs, which will open up the passing game and the play action. Richard Dickson has to worked in more, keep him at the line blocking and then just turn around and have a constant checkdown there for JJ so he doesn't take a sack.
I don't think we need to "help Les leave" and I am sure he is trying to work through this problem. I hope he is thinking of Pro coaches he knows for advice and other sources, such as Jerry Rhome, as an example of a quarterback coach, who prepares qbs for the pros. Outside advice. I remember seeing something on tv after Tebow's Freshman year about FL sending him somewhere that did imaging on his throw and corrected it. Where is that? We need to send JJ. Figure out the problem. Fix it!
so are you advocating a 1-900 advice for the coach line? Who would man it? Lou Holtz? they could have some old sound bites of Paul "bear" Bryant if Lou was busy i guess. that way the coach would be sure to get good advice. :dis:
