Well, as long as Rogers is not on the mound I sure do like our chances. Good game overall tonight. Can't wait for Tuesday!

after watching the replays of rogers' hand from other games in the playoffs and closeups from this game tonight, it is clear to me he is cheating and should be suspended.

i think larussa really dropped the ball here and could have gotten rogers out of this game and the rest of the playoffs.

I think the key is for St. Louis to sweep in order to take the series. If it goes back to Detroit, I think the Tigers will take full advantage of their home crowd and bring home the championship.

Kenny Rogers just needs to throw 5 more innings of scoreless ball to break the record of most innings pitched without giving up a run in a single post season.

Christy Mathewson holds the record with 27 in 1905. Kenny has 23.

Doesn't look like dirt to me. Umps didn't look close enough. I hope the umps just didn't to him to "wash it off". Maybe that's why he has been so successful all of a sudden in the postseason. Maybe not.

I bet you wish Kenny was cheating back in '99.

What I would be more worried about in that pic u displayed is the thumb is dirty...which could be from the ball rolling around in his hand getting that pine tar looking substance on the ball and eventually to his thumb (and fingers I would assume)

Unless he's got trainsmoke breath and thats the residue left over from constantly blowing into his hands

all these peanut gallery comments are ignoring how he washed his hand and came out and dominated the rest of the 6 innings

Well there is substance to that, you must admit.

I assume you support that thesis, that the smudge didn't matter in the end?

The only inning the Cardinals had a man in scoring position was the "smudge" inning. Funny. People are reaching, as is the norm.

I want it investigated and I want him suspended if it's pine tar. Looks like the Cards are already working on it... they are examining balls that he pitched in the 1st inning and submitting them to MLB.

But no, it doesn't matter in the end.
