First since 1954. That surprised me...didnt realize it had been that long. 19 pennants and only 6 World Series championships.
They deserved it. That four headed monster of Lincecum, Cain, Bumgarner and Wilson proved to be too much for the Phillies and Rangers.
I'm here in Dallas for the week. Between the rainy cold day, the Rangers missing out (though they did go this far) and the Cowboys dismal play, I've been seeing a lot of short tempers around the city. It's amazing what a sports team can do for the attitude of an entire city. When I was growing up in New Orleans and the Saints had their first 8-8 season, everyone smiled at you and greeted you on the streets just walking around downtown. Wish I could have been there for the Superbowl win as the whole city must have been the friendliest place for months.
