So, those who went to football games would get priority for baseball postseason?

They will not do a separate priority system for baseball because it takes up too much time and money for a one-time thing. I doubt demand for tickets has ever been this high, and it won't be this high again. The final games at the Box are the only reasons for this.

Well, that is how it works for football road game tickets, no? Besides, if we can already get points for going to selected baseball games (not to mention basketball and gymnastics), why not?

I see your point, but this all reminds me that the whole reason for the existence of student priority points was how much everyone hated the old lottery system.

Yeah, that really got my nose out of joint when I found out that happened. I can't remember the specific legislator and I am definitely not going to look for it online, but I remember the point of the article was not that these guys/gals were getting the tickets, but that they were scalping them. This one legislator was talking about taking his full allocation for his family(2-4 tickets) so he could sell them for thousands of dollars because this was such a big game, and so much interest, blah, blah.

I was furious and embarrassed at the same time. In this case, consider how many TAF members didn't qualify for bowl tickets, but these bags of hot air(they are politicians remember?) got tickets and then sold them. I'm sure some of them went to the game, but I am sure plenty were sold. Sure seemed like a lot were for sale on ebay, stubhub, etc.

It's a pity that college sports tickets, which at least pretend to be amateur events(read not about the $), have gotten so out of whack. I suppose as long as the school is not getting stiffed, there is no real hope they will seek to regulate/stop this in the future. Though I sure would love to have a list of legislators that sold their tickets published in the paper. Windbags wouldn't get away with that in an election year...

I remember and felt the same way. Only in Louisiana would a legislator not only do that, but then brag about it.

Isn't that the truth. I mean back when I could buy a student ticket the cost was nothing. Now if I want to go to a game (of any significance) I have to pay thru the nose, not to mention the cost of flight, hotel, rental car, etc. It is sorta a double edged sword, with the price of success comes the pinch of the wallet. I never thought there would be a day when I would pay $300 or more for tickets to go see a football game in Tiger Stadium. I guess it is the price of being a successful program. Like most of us, I would rather pay the price than live thru the bad, bad years again.

You couldn't have been a student THAT long ago. Don't sell yourself short Old Bandit! Between your impressive use of internet lingo, all the woo hoos, and your sig line, you seem VERY hip.

On the USC site where I post we have a guy who calls himself Oldtimer but the first time I met him, I couldn't believe it. He didn't look older than 45'ish. I still kid him about that.

Keep up all the enthusiasm, I think it's great.
