Good read & raises some interesting questions. http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/41397/is-this-a-storm-petrino-can-survive
Arkansas has spent the majority of their time in the SEC at the bottom of the food chain. they just had their first top five finish in 35 years. They just had their SECOND ten win season since joining the SEC. They went to their first major bowl game in over two decades. Since hiring Bobby Petrino, their football revenue is up 59 percent. they aren't cutting their nose off to spite their face. I think he will be with us for a while, just my 2 cents.
In the end, it's always the "bottom line" that counts. Sad but true. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...-is-right-but-then-dollar-figures-dont-add-up
If Petrino was .500 for the last 3 seasons, he would have been fired a week ago, just ask Houston Nutt. I think he stays, but if he is fired. I will have a new respect for Arkansas.
Totally agree with you on this. IMO the longer this goes on with no action, the more likely it is that R-Kansas will keep Dirt Bag Bobby as coach.
He was screwing a woman who not only worked for him but he hired. That may not be an NCAA violation but it is sexual harassment and against most workplace rules and possibly some labor laws. If she didnt work for him then his actions could be considered private. Since she was paid with state funds it isn't. He in effect had Arkansas paying for his mistress. He should be fired and I think he will be
As bad as it is for the spouse and how poorly it reflects on character, people are missing the distinction between having an affair in general and having an affair with someone, and subsequently hiring that person for a job in your company. One highly exposes your company to legal liability and the other doesn't. Arkansas may end up rolling the dice with Petrino, but they may also end up paying an enormous legal price in the future instead of cutting their losses now.
