The U.S. defense has been horrible with the lead today. It's tied at two with minutes to go before penalty kicks. Hope Solo got banged up and that might have an impact if they go to penalty kicks. Prevent defense doesn't work in soccer either!!! :dis:
I'm not the biggest soccer fan but a World Cup final is "must-see" so I checked it out. Just visited the WWII Museum about a week ago (for the first time) and it seemed to confirm the notion that the two bombs were necessary. Obviously WWII has nothing to do with yesterday's final, until they showed the US fan in the crowd with the poster that said "Abby is the bomb" with the little international symbol of a bomb next to the quote (shortly after her header put us up 2-1). I instantly got that sickening feeling in my stomach, similar to that day visiting the museum. Whether that poster was created with a malicious intent or out of ignorance, my initial reaction was that we've regressed as a society since then while most of the world (including Japan) has progressed.
