Wouldnt doubt it. I think it helped Bama almost as much as us...great atmosphere, team played with heart...that's all you can ask. I think it helped us hold onto our verbals more than it did prompt possibles to commit imo.
I know Tebow was high on Bama... wonder if this may have pulled him toward us? If he redshirts, he could be a starter by his junior year...
Maybe Tebow getting an up close and personal with what LSU's defense did to Croyle (who was uncharacteristically rattled and beaten) will convince him to commit to LSU so he won't have to face the Tiger defense... Seriously, Tebow isn't coming to LSU. To have four 5-Star QB's on the roster would be a recruiting coup that not even the pass-happy SC Trojans could pull off...
But if he goes to 'Bama, he can start possibly as early as next year (don't know exactly who they have besides Croyle....I think that guy, Pennington might still be there). Or...if he goes to Florida, he can redshirt next season and start as a RS-Fresh. Meyer's spread option offense needs a dual-threat QB and Tebow fits the bill. With Russell in line to start again next season, and RP being a RS-Freshman for '06, I just don't see why Tebow would choose to come here? I mean, I don't ever want to turn away a blue-chip player....but in our case, we have 3 former blue-chip QB's already on our roster. And RP will be the starter once JR and Flynn leave.
John Parker Wilson. They've already got Leak for next season, Jevan Snead as a 4* dual threat QB, and are in the mix for Brent Schaeffer. It isn't going to be peaches and cream at Florida. However, how can a dual threat QB be successful in a dropback offense at Bama?
Snead is going to Texas. They're only going to offer Schaeffer if they don't get Tebow. But don't forget about Portis.
