I guess the traffic can be cited as an issue, but I go every other year at Thanksgiving. Since I usually can't make it to games because I live out of state, I stay until the end every time. I suppose the folks who park in the middle of campus get stuck in gridlock, but I park across from the Ag Palace by the lakes, briskly walk from Tiger Stadium, and am usually back at my parents' house in Watson within 30 minutes.
To add on to this, it is really expensive to attend a game there. I think another big problem, especially with the night games, is that people are out tailgating, eating a ton of food, and getting drunk all day. They are actually too tired to stay for the whole game after all of the work that goes into drinking, preparing and eating a huge meal, then putting all of that away before walking to the stadium. I know I would be wiped out if I did that. For that matter, the half a bottle of wine I drank in the hour before last night's game had me more than a little sleepy as the game wore on.
Most of the folks that I used to know tailgating had a pretty explicit system for setup and takedown. I think it's the drunk/full guests that are trying to dip out.
Sadly I have never stayed till the clock ran out. Sometimes only a couple minutes left. Just get line rage when people are standing in walkways and I have to wait to walk then even worse once I get in vehicle. I've gotten much more patient with age so next game I attend (actually hadn't gone to one in several years) it is a goal of mine to stay after. Even wait around. To do that I will have to not b driving an hour and a half home after.
I went to a game last year; first one since the latest add-ons to the stadium. Now I'm sure the result on the field colored my judgement (it was the Arky game), but it was not an enjoyable experience at all. Too cramped, too loud with all the pumped-in noise during the breaks and with all the scoreboards and screens constantly flashing in your face, I feared for my mental health. The old personality is gone; its barely Tiger Stadium any more.
Actually I often went in with a good buzz and it wore off. Had I been able to drink a couple more I would have partied down.
