The thing is Bama has been able to get ahead early in alot of their games. Kentucky played them tough and they were not able to just pound the ball. When they get in passing situations and have to throw i dont think they would be as effective. No doubt they are a competitive team but i have to believe depth eventually puts them at risk. Saban has them playing with confidence.
Unless I am retarded, and I am not, that is the most retarded thing I have ever seen posted. I am also willing to bet you have a mullet and are wearing almost knee length jean shorts and a wife beater (tucked in and no belt ) with taco bell stains on it.:rolleye33:
At least Auburn is above .500. Clemson's wins have come against the Citadel, NC State, and South Carolina St. NC State is ranked no higher than 78th in any offensive or defensive category, and the other two aren't even in the bowl subdivision. Clemson is BAD.
Auburn may be above .500, but both clubs (Clemson & Auburn) are heading down the same paths. It would not surprise me the least if Vandy is able to beat Auburn and knock them out of the Top 25. Up to this point Bama has simply looked much more dominant, against significantly better competition, than LSU has so far. That does not mean that LSU isn't a much better team. It just means LSU hasn't had to show much of itself yet this year. They haven't played anyone yet that has forced them to really "flex their muscles". They had to show a glimpse of it to come back against Auburn, but even in the Miss St game there was never any real doubt, or any cause for concearn/panic. In the next couple of weeks, all of the theories and guesses of who belongs ranked where, won't matter much. If LSU beats Florida and Bama, they will be No. 1. I think they would deserve it after beating Florida, but I don't think the people that vote will put them their (IMO).
WOW!! Thanks for waking me up. I am way the hell away from home right now, but I must have had a senion moment there (I didn't think they would start this early!). Disregard the Vandy comment, but I'll stick w/ the rest of the post. Thanks again StaceyO for waking me up!
Eh, I guess. I just don't see it. Sure they beat UGA on the road, and I'll give it to you, that's a good, quality win. I'm just not sure how good UGA is. They have only beaten 1 FBS team with a winning record, and that was South Carolina. I've watched a few South Carolina games, and to be honest, I'm not sure how they even still have a winning record. Then there's Kentucky, a team Alabama barely squeaked by at home. A team that has been fattening up on the likes of Norfolk St. and Western Kentucky. I think Kentucky is probably good enough to get to a bowl, but looking at the remainder of their schedule, I think they could easily finish 6-6. As far as dominance goes, our average margin of victory is actually larger than theirs. So what has Alabama really accomplished? I guess about as much as anybody else has through 6 weeks - not much. There is so much football left to play and so much still left to learn. Right-o, my friend, right-o. :geauxtige:geauxtige
Not to say Bama hasn't looked dominant and that they aren't a good team, but please tell me who this significantly better competition is. Clemson? I'm not so sure Mississippi State wouldn't beat Clemson right now. In fact, I'd have my money on Miss State. UGA? They're good, but not that good. Only beating South Carolina by 7 doesn't imrpess me. The only thing that makes UGA appear to be a GREAT win, is that they started the season at #1. Clearly overrated from what we've seen of them, we now know that Bama didn't beat a top 3 team in UGA. See how preseason rankings can skew perception.
I think its kinda funny how people say "well, we'll see how good they play after they play so-and-so"...Then they win, and then so-and-so is suddenly "overrated". The media is just as guilty as fans--we all do it. Even I do it. Still shows you how unpredictable college football is, and why they actually play on Saturday.
Definite truth there. I was bragging to my friend we would beat the snot out of Auburn because they weren't that good. Then after the win, I put Auburn on a pedestal in support of my Tigers and their "deserved" ranking. My friend thought I was being pretty hypocritical, of course. We all do it to some degree.
