Venus out. Lost to another eastern bloc Amazon Tsvetana Pironkova from Bulgaria, 5'10, 100lbs. Also, Federer lost today to Berdych and the Williams sisters lost in doubles. New faces in finals this year.
Didn't say she was the "top" amazon. They just breed them a little taller and leaner and meaner over there.
Is Pironkova 5'10" and only 100lbs? looks kinda thick for only 100lbs update! according to wikipedia...she's 5'11" 140lbs sounds about right.
More amazon-like? Must have read the stats on her from a while back. Serena takes the woman's trophy, Nadal the mens. Little to no rain this year (can't remember any rain actually). It was a good tourney.
