Also defensive end. We have had at least one notable (Marcus Spears), and another starter as a senior (Bryce Wyatt) who were both tight ends in high school.
I just can't see anyone we have moving to DE with the talent we have on the DL now. A switch to OL would be more of a need area, but the TE's we have would have to put on a good deal of weight to consider that move. Perhaps the next offensive coordinator will utilize the TE's more.
Generally, you can have played in no more than the first three game to be eligible for a medical hardship (redshirt). I don't remember Zinger playing beyond the third game, which would mean he was eligible. Additionally, all the medical bills should be sufficient evidence to support his claim.
agreed. I wasn't really talking about a position for him more about what has been done in the past. We are pretty stacked on the DL but you never know. No matter how stacked we were, Marcus Spears needed to be a DE.
we don't need anymore Spadoni types at LB, we've been getting by on lesser talent at that position for a while.
Lesser talent? Man, I'd hate to face our defense if we ever get talented LBers!:hihi: Every program needs a few players like Spadoni. No, he wasn't a very good LBer, but he was an excellent special teams player and did everything the coaches asked him to do. Not every scholarship player can be a great player, but they contribute nonetheless.
Lott is extremely athletic for his size and I think he will be one of the guys they move to LB for a shot. I heard he worked there a lot this year.
