    I promised a few years ago I would not ever vote for Rick Perry. I need to find out more about this Houston Democrat;

    Anybody?

I just will not vote Perry.

Well despite his rather weak denials, he helped transform Houston into a full-fledged sanctuary city. Pretty much a liberal democrat and all that that entails. Funny that he was busy "meeting Texans", and couldn't meet Obama when he came here. He is a carbon copy of Obama but knows he can't be seen with him these days. Seeing a lot of that around the country.

Perry is a used car salesman. Bout the nicest thing I can say about him. It's a frying pan/fire kind of race.

I said probably. I haven't gone to the machine yet.

This does bring up an interesting debate though.

Some say you can't complain if you don't vote.

But can you complain when you vote for an idiot too?

If more people would support non-mainstream candidates we would all be better.

idiot is in the eye of the beholder.

also, when your choices are dumb and dumber, i think it is critical to vote and not say "i dont like so i'm not voting". as i said before, its called minimizing the damage until someone good comes along.

none of us are ever gonna completely agree with a candidate (well, most of us) so, imo, it is important to vote for the one you think can at the most do some good, and at the least, to less damage.

not voting is a cop out on making the tough decision.

Yes but voting for dumb is just that IMO. Garbage in Garbage out and it's hard to wait for someone better when you keep voting the same Garbage in. It doesn't break cycle.

But in your line of thinking there are only 2 candidates when yes there may be more. If the masses don't wake up and start voting out the mainstream all you are going to get is crap year after year.

I will vote for who aligns with me best, not based on party or who I don't want to win.

I will also vote morally and practice what I preach. And a hypocrit / adulterer doesn't fit into what I want to support.

i am using two as an example. there may be 3 or more candidates and they may all be equally stupid. the point is, you minimize the damage.

it may be garbage in, but there is the trash basket from my office and the stinky kitchen trash. i would rather sniff the trash from my office than god knows what might be decomposing in the kitchen trash. and then hope in the next cycle the garbage can be taken out.

the point is, if the damage is not minimized, undoing it may be much more difficult. and if the dumbest of all the candidates wins cause people didnt like just any of em and didnt vote, that is part of the problem.

when all the candidates are dumb, wishing it were not so and not voting does not accomplish anything. but voting is at least trying and hoping for better the next time.
