It is ashame there is still a lot of voters who vote based on how well the candidate looks and talks, and not on substance and issues. Only a few/minority paid attention to Obama's background and philosophy, including lack of legislative experience. Now we are all paying for it.....:cuss:
Im going to vote for Vitter. Melancon is a joke. Does anyone have any idea whos going to run against Mary Landrieu?
I'm voting for Vitter. Though he's had his name trashed because of the DC Madam scandal, I generally agree with the way he votes. I know some would see him as morally unfit on those grounds, but I don't let politicians be role models for how I behave in life. I'm also voting against Charlie Melancon. I approved of him before Obama's coronation, but since then, his votes have been strictly upon party lines going further to the left. However, he does his congressional district a decent job. If he had remained a congressman intsead of trying to unseat Vitter at the request of the party, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with him. That said, there aren't very many choices for the coming midterm elections, at least in my part of Louisiana. As always is the unfortunate case, it will come down to picking which ones hinder my life the least.
Vitter is nothing more than the same ole GOP NEO CON slime that has infected the Republican Party. These people have no sense when it comes to politics or family life. I think he should stop being a damn hypocrit and step down like he advocated for Bill Clinton: More and More of same gets you More and More of the same. The public has no balls thus will see the same **** again. As usual most people are all talk.
The Senate election is a lose lose for Louisiana. We elect to many party men and not enough Conservatives.
True that. I wonder if it's because we are seen as a strong republican state and thus, no one tries to ruffle party feathers too much or is the party just strong enough here to keep coming up with the same candidates and trumping any newcomers before they even get their feet off the ground
my guess is the latter. i suspect the party puts a bit of money into holding onto the seats and sure party line votes.
I think your avatar sums it up nicely. The only problem is that there is no other republican they want in, and there's no independent that would go up against them with a decent chance of winning, so we get Vitter or Melancon and hope for the best. The latest polls strongly indicate Vitter.
