You are both expecting last year to repeat itself for both quarterbacks. These sophomore quarterbacks will not only be better, but will have expanded their repertoire. Hopefully most of Lee's rookie mistakes are behind him, but Jefferson is going have some, too. He hasn't faced an SEC season yet. Fix the mistakes and both of these guys can play.

i agree with some of your points, but to me in the Florida game, i have thought about this and thought about this, how are we going to gameplan against a defense like florida has. Well if you remember the drive right at the end of the first half in last years florida game, we worked the sidelines, gave trindon the ball at times, ran no huddle, let our athletes make plays. I think we know what Jarrett Lee is about, and i would much rather see Shep get worked into the mix. Our athletic ability is our X factor, and if we mix it up, with the no huddle, work the sidelines, i think we have a great shot of beating florida. Unless we just out physical them, and have our line dominate them.

I do agree that C Scott up the middle over and over for the first 4 games would not benefit us in the long run, but i also don't think we show our hand in those games either.

i don't expect last season to repeat itself, but that is all i have to go on, when it comes to evaluating jarrett lee, other than the spring game, and he looked like last years lee. all i am saying is throughout last season i did not see lee progress, and in the short time jefferson played i did see progression.

I agree mostly with you guys. I think they both can play. Lee got a bad hand last year and you know what... he played it bad also. It was not all the coaches fault nor was it all Lee's fault. Lee is no longer the first year guy, he has no excuses now, it's either do it or don't.

I think I fear LSU will do the Scott up the middle for the first 4 games to take the pressure off the QBs, I think that might be a bad thing if overused like last year. It worked last year until it didn't, than it was a nightmare.

I don't think they repeat that, well, I am hoping they don't repeat that. Scott is a tough back, no doubt, but he can't carry the whole team in SEC action. It sounds like they have a bunch of interesting formation plays to mix it up that involve Shepard too, but to me at the end of the day... Jefferson has to become confident in his pocket passing in the first 4 games... we know he can rollout, he now needs to read the coverages.

    We'll see... should be fun.

You worry too much. IMO, JJ showed good poise and patience in the pocket and delivered strikes when that was what was asked of him and when given time to do so. As far as the coaches overusing Scott to take the pressure off the QB's like they did last year, all I can do is point out the obvious...this isn't last year. There's no need to take the pressure off the QB's. They have both been pressure-tested and at least one of them has shown REAL promise.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the fruits of their labor! :hihi:

    just think if i tried.

i think we overlook the fact that often times a successful qb regresses his second year. I think its likely JJ regresses from the mean of last year due to the fact coordinators know how to gameplan for him. thats often how it plays out.

He may not since he has shown the ability to remain composed which i feel is vital. He seems to have good awareness so maybe hes a smart dude and can adapt as well.

regarding lee. we may have ruined him last year beyond repair. his psyche will forever be in question each time he throws an interception.

thats a tough thing to shake considering how it all went down last year.

hopefully he doesnt have recurring nightmares reliving that debacle.

Everyone that says Lee is not gonna have the same year that he had last year...can you please provide us with the Powerball Numbers.

No one knows what kind of year he will have....hell after Cecil Collins first got busted climbing into a window there were people saying..."Well He will never do that again"..his experience should have kicked in right.

I dont know whats gonna happen..and neither do any of y'all...could he better then last year..more then likely yes cause to would be pretty hard to be worse....BUT he could be worse too.

Winning is great. I grew up watching LSU play since 1957 and have seen bad years, good years, great years, and outstanding years. I moved from Alexandria to Palouse WA. in 1976 and I am still a LSU fan and all ways will be. I worked a WSU (Washington State University) for 29 years and retired. If you think last year was bad for LSU, you should be a Cougar.Last year all the QBs got hurt and the team got a QB from the student body. Tiger Stadium is a great place to see a game,And NO ONE should ever boo a TIGER.Geaux Tigers and educate the huskies. HUCK THE FUSKIES.:geauxtige

I was talking about how he looks RIGHT NOW in fall camp. Last year is a point of reference and nothing more. Last year has no bearing on this season in terms of QB play.

This is where you lose me every time. Lee's play could've been A LOT worse last year. He could've folded like a wet blanket against Auburn and Troy, for instance. How long have you been watching college football? And do you watch more than just LSU? I get the feeling you don't remember much past 2003 or so. I'm sure I'm wrong, but that's the impression you're giving me.
