I would say he was not so great at Arkansas and solid in the bowl game. GA Tech game the whole LSU team was on and very dominating, he didn't make any mistakes = blowout win.

Once SEC play starts up again those rollout pass plays will not be there and than we will be able to see if he can throw from the pocket. Teams will eliminate the edges from him to either pass or run option. Only then will you be able to see if he can truly play. I don't think GA Tech was a test at all. The test will come this year with Georgia and then Florida.

Should be a fun year, there is room for the new guys to start taking the reins.

 

I thought he played a great game vs. Arkansas, or at least great first half. 30 points should have been plenty to beat a dual Dick lead offense, with no Jones, no McFadden, no Hillis, and no Monk. Our undisciplined defense lost us that game.

the guy is a athlete and has the option to run if he is in trouble in the pocket thats part of being a QB. To say you will able to see if he can truly play only if he throws from the pocket is another crazy statement.
Also Jefferson throw a few touchdown passes from the pocket, maybe you need to watch those games again.
I remember specifically him hitting Dixon on a TD from the pocket. As well as looking off a safety and hitting Lafell in the endzone... FROM THE POCKET.

Read in context. A lot QBs can run, so what? Those rollouts are not going to be there, that is the point.

Who said he didn't throw a FEW from the pocket. I watched the game. We will see when he has a second less to be in the pocket what happens against Georgia and Florida, GA Tech is neither of those two teams.... not even close. LSU could have probably had freaking Hatch out there in the GA Tech game and they still would have dominated. Most of what Jefferson did was on the outside on rollouts, nothing wrong with that, he played solid. I don't see it as a test and no I didn't see enough to think he is a pocket passer. He certainly could be a good pocket passer, a FEW passes from the pocket against GA Tech is not a test. IMHO

A FEW against GA Tech doesn't mean much to me, so I don't know what you are talking about.

I swear people are just freaking weird. Next I will hear how great he is because he threw a FEW from the pocket against UW, so what, the real season starts against Georgia.
