I think we will b/c of the human polls, which is really sad. I mean, Oregon can beat Cal by 2 damn points, have on of the weakest schedules in all of the top 25 and be ranked number 1 while LSU plays in a division where3 teams will likely have 10+ wins while another 2 will have 8+ and drop b/c they won a close game over an SEC team who is down this year.... What do yall think?
I really don't care. I still say put any team above us in the SEC and no one is undefeated regardless of this being a down year. The SEC is still the dominant conference in college football. It's very clear.
I don't think we will, I think most voters know, or at least the ones with some sense know that winning a close game in the SEC against a rival, shouldn't count against you. If anything, watching this game makes people say, "uh oh, LSU may have found an offense, to go along with that defense." And I don't think voters will think anything less of our defense either.
Why is this considered a "down" year in the SEC? Because UF isn't dominant? OK. Auburn is. There's like 6 teams in the top 25.
I definitely don't think it's a down year. Just look at the SEC West -- 5 out of the 6 teams are in the top 25. And Ole Miss certainly did not look like a 4-6 team today. :geauxtige
I agree, if anything the SEC is stronger than it has been in the past in my opinion. And the West damn sure is. The problem with the SEC, is just because teams have losses doesn't mean they aren't good, because most of those losses come to other SEC teams. We are all victims of our own conference's greatness. Arkansas is legit, Alabama is legit, Auburn is legit, LSU is legit, Florida is a good team, Georgia is a good team after struggling early, Mississipi State is legit, UK is pretty good, South Carolina is legit when Garcia is on his game. Tennessee is a bad team but they have athletes, and can play football at times. The SEC is so far ahead of other leagues as far as competition goes and talent and speed, it's unreal. Not a down year, a better year.
Don't think it will happen. LSU has a significant lead over both Stanford and Wisconsin, and I don't think anyone will be fooled by the Badger win over an awful Michigan team. Besides, it's what LSU does, (playing close games no matter who they're playing). One of the guys calling the game tonight made a great point. He said that none of the other teams above LSU, would ever see a 4-6 team on their schedule as good as Ole Miss. Think of it. Can you imagine if Oregon had to go to Starkville or Fayetteville to play the weaker part of their conference schedule? It's a joke. If Oregon, or especially Boise and TCU, had to play LSU's conference schedule, they'd be lucky to get 4 wins.
Don't exaggerate too much, They might not be undefeated, and they could have 1-3 losses, but to say they'd only have 4 wins is being naive.
