 Things are kinda slow at the office, and my boss is rarely there. Just looking at their remaining schedule, and the team vs. team grid, it's gonna be tough as hell for them to do it (barring the other contenders ALL dropping off completely like the Sox did last year). Sure they closed the division gap by a few games recently, but they've been playing bottom feeders since the break while Boston has been playing contenders. Starting next week, those roles basically reverse. The Yanks will play a LOT of contenders, while Boston only plays 2 (NY and Anaheim). All Seattle has to do is keep the pace their on, and the other 3 vying for that spot will knock each other out of the race.
I think Seattle's storybook season will come to an unfulfilling end with the Yankees edging them on the very last game of the season.
I don't think they will given Mussina's recent inability to pitch but I'll reassess after the next 2 series (Boston and Seattle). As a lifelong Yankee fan, let me just say: THANK GOD FOR FOOTBALL!!!
After Mussina's last start ,I dont think we will see him in the rotation again. Stick a fork in the Yankees,I think they are done.
I sure do hope that the Yankees make it...Only if the Cubs make it too! My GF's dad is a HUGE yankees fan and I'm a big Cubs fan. He told me that if they both make it, he will get us tickets to one of the games in each city... awesome huh?
It's a good night tonight. The Cubs and Brewers are fighting it out with one another and the Cardinals get the lowly Astros. But hey, the Cubs can actually say they have held first place for more than a few hours!
Got this one right 2 for 2 Didn't end as close as I expected, but 3 for 3 in division races.:thumb: Oops. At least I left myself open for this to happen. :hihi:
