Eight years of Bush's deficits were less than Obama's 09 deficit if you factor out TARP. I do because it has largely been repaid and will end being completely repaid.
As far as the original question. No. I have ZERO faith in either party to do what's right. If democrats want cuts, they will want to cut things that aren't in their campaign contributors interest, and the same goes for the republicans, which is evident in the bill the house just passed.
Bullchit. Is the war in Afghanistan over, is bin Ladin dead? Obama is still dealing with 9/11 because Bush started well and finished . . . well, he didn't finish it did he? 9/11 didn't cause the mortgage collapse or the recession that started Obama in a hole. Clinton left Bush a surplus and he pissed it all away.
That would be your Barney Frank and the Dems who wanted to put all of their li'l po folks in a nice fancy house.
It wasn't Dems putting po' folks into ghetto mortgages that broke the bubble . . . it was big banks lending big money to people with big income. Lots of Republicans. They bought overpriced mansions in california and vacation homes in Florida and then went underwater when the bubble burst.
Both of you are "after-the-fact" talkers. Try making a change while it still matters. Oh wait y'all vote for these morons.
What changes do you make, exactly? Other than not-particularly-well-thought-out carping about practically everything, what do you bring to the table that makes you so high and mighty? This I gotta hear.
The majority of people here follow the status quo whether you are Repub or Democrat. Same - Same. I talk about ideas that aren't popular. Obviously everything is IMO.
