LSU has lots of lawyers and athletic department people whose job it is to insure that LSU breaks no laws or misses any moral obligations. There are hundreds of athletes on scholarship at LSU, some in dangerous activities, and injuries are common. Schools could not run athletic programs if they were liable sued by every player that gets injured. Athletes sign waivers of liability. In return LSU provides medical treatment and players are heavily insured by the university.

Black really doesn't have a case unless he was misled by doctors or forced to play against his wishes, of which there is no evidence. A hard case to make seeing that he willfully played his senior year.

It is just a tough break for CIron, kind of like Harvey WIlliams knee injury. We all thought its was a career ender, but he made an NFL team and carved himself out a career. Black needs to get his knees healthy right now. The NFL is nice, but a young man needs to make sure his mobility is protected.

How about the Kansas City Chiefs organization and front office?

They'd drafted three straight LSU players in the first round -- severely reaching for Tyson Jackson at third overall, their latest selection.

They played Dorsey out of position at noseguard in the 3-4! He's a 3 technique in a 4-5.

Dwayne Bowe has been damn good for them, especially with how poor their quarterback play has been.

However, they have to answer to their fans for the poor results of the team and especially their bungling of the last 2 LSU players taken in Dorsey (how they used him) and Jackson (where they took him).

So the Chiefs give ammo to a writer on how poor the LSU program is, etc. It's also apparently started to spread across the league as Chris Landry an NFL Analyst/Scout has said many teams are wondering why LSU players "underperform" in the NFL.

Bottom line is Les Miles has a lot of work to do about making LSU players great collegiate players. After that, the NFL is a roll of the dice. Just ask a lot of former Heisman Trophy winners.

Very, very sad news for Black. I really feel for him. He lost a LOT of money through all this. I sat and thought a lot about this one. I do put some blame on the coaches. Its obvious Black wasnt the same as he was the previous three seasons. Its up to the coaches to put the best possible player out there. While Black was that option, he wasnt performing to expectations. Sit him down sometimes. Especially knowing there was an injury and he needed rest. So Miles and staff are partly to blame.

LSU has been known to having a great S&C program. I think a lot of it is on the players and what they do in the off season. It seems we might need a bit of a spark but overall its on the players.

As for Tigers in the NFL. I hate to say it but overall they havent performed to expectations. Outside of Bowe, none have played to where they were drafted. Sure Dorsey is out of position to an extent but still, word is he is also suffering from very poor technique. Landry has played well but hasnt at all established himself as a top S which he was expected to be. He goes for the big play too often, rather than making the play. I think Landry is better suited to SS though and playing up close to the line. I never though Russell was a top pick. I thought he should have come back but cant blame him for coming out since he was guaranteed to be a top pick.

No wonder the program is slipping. I bet Nick Saban is not playing around on a swing right now. :thumb:

That's because he'd have to be human. The family man in Les is what I like best about him.
