They also lose 2 top 10 NFL picks 1 being in interior O'linemen. Possibly a second O'linemen as well. Give them a few years before you claim there is a "pace" to keep up with. As far as I am concerned, Bama is the only pace setter.
Hey "dude" I can't believe that is your comparison. Did Ole Miss or Arky have a Heisman winner coming back that has at least TWO, extremely large WR's coming in to throw to?? Do YOU REALLY think losing A LT and A defensive linemen is as bad as 2/3 of a starting defense THAT HAS HAD TO CARRY and underperforming offense for years now??? WHICH TEAM finished the season better??? You are COMPLETELY delusional if you can have MORE CONFIDENCE in the way LSU finished the season AND WHY, vs A&M, as arguably the hottest team in CFB. Based on the way LSU played their last few games including the bowl vs the way A&M played theirs, do you really think we would beat them again??? I hate to break the news to you but the score of the game THIS YEAR.............will HAVE NO BEARING on any future games.............ever. Yes A&M lost a great LT, you have ANY IDEA how many more live JUST in the state of Texas???
I question what that a Sumlin offense is going to look like without a mike leach prodigy calling plays and running the O.
Well, I missed the part were we finished behind ATM. We finished higher in the west. And yes, I would put LSU's depth against anyone. I need to rethink what I consider a pace to follow. I thought the idea was to dominate. LSU has always been int he mix of the SEC Champ for the past 10 years. That will not change soon. Hey man, O'lines are the most important piece. We dominated ATM on the lines. Won the game. What is overwhelmingly funny is you can plug and play into ATM's team with freshman, but for some reason think LSU can't. Not to mention our Freshman O'linemen allowing Mett to get Teabagged all game. That would never happen to ATM. A single O'linemen can't have that impact. Can they? Que Alexander
Well TCU may lose to LSU but it won't be because GP got out coached. BTW, TCU is "my" team because my son is a 4 time letterman, as for LSU, I have a scholarship in my name that I fully fund EVERY YEAR..............does that make them MY TEAM more than they are yours???? How about you...........just buy football tickets???? As for Johnny Football, it appears he is AT LEAST 2 maybe 3 inches taller than Russell Wilson who totally beat out the former, taller LSU NFL veteran. As for speed compared to Manziel...............you would say what????? How do you know how good ANY recruit will be for Miles or Sumlin??? My point is no one knew Joeckel or Matthews would turn into the studs they did as they were both average size and there was not that much on them.............but they grow on trees like that over here.
This thread, to me, is the fundamental theme and, to some degree, culture of the LSU football fanbase. Maybe even with the program itself(players, coaches, admin, etc.). Do you stay "status quo" and be happy with double digit win seasons, only to finish the season w/out conference and/or national championships when we have, in many people's opinion, all the pieces to win it all in almost any given season? Or, do you make the changes in persuit of greatness? I do hear some say they almost wish that if we don't win the SEC and/or national title, they wouldn't be too terribly upset to see things go bad enough for real change to occur, specifically on offense. Almost a "blessing in disguise"-type scenario. With everything LSU has in place in its' football program, what is satisfactory to you? To me, this is the fundamental question that is LSU football. Personally, I LOVE the sucess LSU football has experienced since the Saban-Miles era began. Especially when you consider the state our beloved Tigers football program was in prior to 2000. The only program that I would even half-consider trading places with over that time span would be Bama. The ONLY reason for that is 2 National titles for us compared to 3 for them, plus the head-to-head shutout in the BCSCG. All other years considered, I would NOT trade places with even Bama. Basically, to me, if we would've won in NO, I wouldn't even trade places with them. (This is based on wins and losses, btw. I would NEVER, in my worst nightmare, want to be a Bama fan!) Certainly not USuCk and their Herbsteit Memorial Dynasty trophy that he presented them on a daily basis for about 5 years. Oklahoma, Ohio State both got waxed several times in BCSCGs. Wouldn't trade with them. Bottom line for me is: post-2007, I believe we have been, for the most part, underachievers. 2011 regular season and SECCG being the obvious exception. Based on talent level, quality asst. coaching, facilities, recruiting, etc, etc, etc...We CAN have what Bama has. We can. I truly believe that in my heart and, more importantly, in my head. Probably not in 2013, though. Too many unexpected underclassmen losses to the draft. I believe LSU MUST change on offense. The time to settle for less than our own capabilities, for me, is over. Change is needed on the offenseive coaching staff. Anything less is unacceptable to me. I don't believe reaching your own potential is being "spoiled" or "unrealistic". We can and WILL have what Bama has if Miles gets his head out of the sand. Make it happen! p.s. sorry my post is so long. I literally couldn't address such a huge issue with any less... I just LOVE the Tigers so much. It hurts me to see us not taking what I believe can be ours: Greatness! What can have a Dynasty, and I believe, if the necessary changes are made, we will!
