There is always that outside possibility he gets pursued by Michigan this off season. It seems pretty obvious that Lloyd Carr is on the hot seat up there, and I don't see it to be a stretch that he could be offered that post.
The only way he leaves LSU is if he does a good job with the rest of the season, that is only having 2 losses total after Jan 1. Then Michigan continues to fall and they let Carr go. However, that would mean buying out Miles contract and that won't happen. Miles will be here for a few years because he won't make any more money doing anything else.
Right ticket, but wrong party... But seriously... if he don't like the "pressure" here, I think it becomes a possibility... I think Les is REAL passionate though, and I think he will find a niche here if he can start to win some ballgames... What some of you guys are too blind to see is that if he goes 10-1 this year, he will be a hero...
Rumor had it when he was in negotiations with LSU he was asked about the Michigan thing. Supposedly he replied, "Why would somebody leave LSU for Michigan?"
End of the year? An NFL job? He'll have to prove he can win first, that is the cart before the horse!
If Carr was let go after this year it would be interesting to see if michigan would inquire about Miles. The buyout is only $500,000 if I remember correctly. That is a pittance for schools like LSU and michigan to get what they want. If he doesn't have a great year at LSU his stature would be minified. It is interesting that Miles' buyout from LSU is smaller than it was for okie lite. Why would LSU have made it so easy for him to take another position if, perchance, he was being successful at LSU.
You guys are taking this too seriously... By NFL job, he probably didn't mean head-coach... Les could be a coordinator in the NFL or a position's coach very easily
