Exactly. Miles wants a smash it up the gut run game, with a mobile enough QB that can manage the game from the pocket, not all these cutesy plays Crowton tries to run that are designed around a running QB.

 

I wrote the same thing earlier in this thread.

The problem is that Mett will be a poor backup for JJ, and JJ will be a poor backup for Mett. In order to prepare for the possible [like an injury], the offense will have to learn two offenses .... the JJ offense and the pro-style Mett offense.

OTOH .. Mett and JLee are more compatible. Make that your QB combo .. move Jefferson to a position where he can excel .. and be done with it.

Like the old timers always say ... it's better to do one thing well, than to do a bunch of things poorly.

 

I don't think this team will be metts until jj grads. The only way jj sits is if crowton goes and that may not be enough. But you can use this as a way to say miles will stay. Mett wouldn't have came to lsu if miles wasn't going to be here. Miles would have had to lie to mett if he was leaving because you can bet mett asked him if he was going to stay as lsu's coach. Mett wouldn't have come to lsu not knowing who the head coach would be with all the options he had

 

Well, according to reports (take with a grain of salt, I guess), Miles and Alleva urged Crowton to remove his name from consideration of a head coaching opportunity. That scares me.

If miles gives his coordinators the power that most on this board says he does then crowton will try to run his style of spread with a senior qb. If miles wants to change to a pocket pro passing offense then it would make sense that he will hire a oc that has experience in implementing that style. If miles wants to continue the spread with jj and bring mett along slowly then the crow will stay. Miles will have that say for sure. If crow goes then expect a diffrent offensive style if the crow stays we will have to hope jj steps up to the plate. The crow will not change his offense if miles wants a new offense then we need a new oc. The choice is miles' alone. We will see
