The only thing I can think of as a reply to that question would be that, the fans want to see a guy that doesn't play as well in practice, because the guy on the roster spot ahead of said player sucks in the actual game.... Only thing I can think of. But, we don't know how they practice.
Kinda getting into this late, so I'm not real sure where the line of questioning is going, but I do know that Miles repeatedly throughout the season would tell us that they both had good practices and that it just needed to translate onto the field. Something that just didn't happen, with the exception of a few games.
I wish they would open practice up for the media and fans to see. All we have to go on is coachspeak. I mean is Miles going to say, "well, JJ sucked today, he couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, Lee wasn't much better, if at all."
Yes, but if they did that we wouldn't have a need for half the discussions that go on here. Speculation and ridicule of the coaching staff decisions is what being a fan is all about, isn't it?
Im just saying that crow will want to try and make the spread option he put so much time into work with a senior qb before he tries to make major changes and miles will give jj the chance to start his senior year before allowing mett to start no matter how good mett looks in practice in my opinion. But I'm not a coach nor am I a gifted mind reader. Just what I speculate.
Maybe because Josh Booty was the first-team ALL SEC quarterback that year. He threw for 2,121 yards to Davey's 577. Rohan mostly came in to finish off beaten teams. It was 2001 when his game really took off.
Mett is being brought here in HOPES of improving our QB situation. Nobody can definitavely say that he will be the clear-cut "best fit" for whatever offense we're running. If Crowton stays, I believe whole-heartedly that JJ will be the starter. Further than that, I believe JJ SHOULD be the starter IF Crowton stays. That idiot simply does not know what to do with a pocket QB. Frankly, I'm surprised Les didn't go after a QB with more mobility if he knew the whole time that he was keeping Crowton. I'm just hoping we get GOOD JJ next year.
I don't know why so many are assuming that Miles has made the decision to keep Crowton. Especially since he has dodged the question on several occasions.
Shouldn't that tell you something about Crowton the spread genius's future if all we're recruiting is pocket passers?
