will Mettenberger start over Jefferson

Why would you think Les will not start Zack if he wins out over JL and JJ?

I have seen a guy stick with the same quarterback until the wheels absolutely fall off. Offensively that is.


It took 7 pick sixes to get Jefferson snaps. It took the worst passing offense in D1 for Lee to get back in the mix.

I'm telling you, Les is a practice guy. If you play well in practice then you start. And JJ will play well in practice.

Will Mettenberger's talents eventually win out, I would say yes. But do you think he is going to get to town and have a better grasp on the offense and playbook than 3 year letterman senior quarterback will???

I'm not arguing with you as far as who do I think is the better quarterback, what I am arguing is who will start behind center at the beginning of next season. And until Les comes out and says Mettenberger will be the starter, I have to believe that JJ will have that role.

 

So Mettenberger knows the playbook?

 

This will not be metts team until jj grads. Mett may play hopefully more than not. When jl was hot after the fl game he wasn't allowed to grow and take over because this offense was built on crowton's spread option scheme. Jl didn't fit that style of play. Mett won't either and crow will think with jj coming back as a senior that things will be better next year. Mett may win out in the end but jj will start and crow will try to run his offense again so he can say "told u so"

 

not only that, Miles has been very protective of his quarterback since the 08 Lee debacle. He is going to want to ease ZM into the offense, not just throw him to the wolves. I don't think people understand what kind of pressure is going to be on this kid.

I mean hell read the boards, people are acting like he is going to be the savior of this program, and he hasn't even taken a D1 snap yet.

Why in the hell would Les play JJ if he sucked in practice... I have never said he sucked in practice, in fact, quite the opposite. I think he probably looks damn good in practice, and unfortunately that hasn't translated to Saturdays.

Well, that was under Saban. I have often wondered what the hell he was thinking at times with his quarterback situations. Jamarcus and Marcus Randall, starting Matt Flynn in the Cap 1 bowl. You got me cousin, I have no idea.

 

This may be off base but after one of the games I think miss state they showed the team singing in the locker room. Jj's arm was around miles neck and they were singing together. Miles and jj have an almost father son relationship I think from what I saw. Miles wants jj to succede so bad that he will atleast give him a few games to try. I don't see miles sitting jj in his senior season even if mett is better. If lsu is winning even ugly with jj , jj will start and play most snaps. Jl will be left out sorry to say. I would rather see mett and jl as qb's running a pro offense with jj as tight end and wildcat.
