In all seriousness, the fact that he will be practicing with the team during the bowl preparations is HUGE.
I agree Luke. The loser in all of this is Jarrett Lee. I commend the kid for sticking it out, and putting up with what he had to put up with, and I really hope that the fans welcome him back with open arms. But what I see for next season, if Mettenberger progresses and is ready to go, is the dual qb system again with Jefferson and Mettenberger. The fact of the matter is Jordan Jefferson has turned into a legitimate option quarterback, and his wheels can be an asset in the option game. He regressed as a passer, and still holds onto the ball too long. But he can still be an effective wildcat quarterback. Back on Jarrett Lee, what would please me more than anything, is if this kid gets a standing ovation at Senior Day next season.
i hope this kid comes in and lights it up. god knows we need a good qb for this team to progress. but can we wait for him to get on campus, get some practice in with the team, and be eligible before we have him start?
Jarrett Lee def deserves to be commended but he had a chance to separate himself this around midseason and did for a couple games (Tenn/Fl) but was kind of inconsistent afterwards. I would never have guessed it, but Jefferson ended up being the one who stepped up as a passer and he deserves the top spot next year but Lee showed a lot of improvement this past year and is a worthy backup at least, for next year.
