Take two Tylenol and get some rest, brother. It's gonna be a long off season. We need you healthy. My avatar under Seaward's avatar is pretty appropriate, I think....
Troy was a "lock", too. And USC was a "lock" to beat Stanford a few years ago. All I am saying is that when they had their QB healthy last year, they were a solid team and with a new DC, it takes time (remember Pelini's 1st 2 games)? Combine that with them having a new coach, so we have no film to base it on and I worry about that 1st ballgame.
If you go back and check, I argued with many on the board that Troy would be a closer game than Appy State last year. I stick by WSU being a lock, so don't worry so much.
and i get your point, but last season was definitely an aberration. like i said in another thread, if LSU pulls what happened last season again... things will change. i won't say that first game AT washington will be a lock, but LSU should win... easily.
I thought we beat Troy? Washington having a new coach is probably more of a disadvantage to them than it is to us. No way an 0-30 team with a new coach beats a powerhouse in his first game. Locker is pretty good, but we've got a few guys that register as 'pretty good,' too. Lock. And throw away the key.
No game is a lock. That said, with the reports so far out of spring practice, I would say we are going to be close to 2007 form. Was reading an article on CFN BCS Bowl preditions, they made the statement of us being the 2nd best team in the SEC, behind UF, and losing to UF in the SECCG, but have UGA going to the Sugar Bowl. Sounds like a 2005 type prediction where we end up in the CF Bowl. They predict us with a 10-2 regular season record. I will take that.
One reason this poll doesn't make sense. Its an odd year! One reason this poll does make sense. LSU isn't USC or Notre Dame
Well, it was Chick Fil A in 2005, so I would assume that is what he's talking about. And the Washington game? Come on Clairice...
The SEC has evolved. That odd year stuff is over, I think. It was valid when Bama was down and Auburn was up. Now - every year is our "odd year". Or, maybe no year is our "odd year". Point is - I don't think any year is easier than any other in SEC play under the parity we have right now.
