This will be fun to tell. Man we got a stable right now. Hard to tell after RB by committee whether it will be any 1 or 2 who stand out and get the bulk of the snaps or all in for the end zone. My gut tells me no 1000 yarder, but maybe all purpose yards from a back? That's pretty doable. CEH has matured and after listening to him in a podcast, he is a really really football intelligent back. I think he will be the all purpose guy, maybe, with a ridiculous amount of fresh legs to offset, or take over in their own rights. Emery is gonna hurt some feelings, but Price is just gonna hurt someone, period. If Price gets bigger, he will have that JC Copeland kind of bowling alley look, if they let him gain any more weight. I hear nothing but promise out of Curry but even Fournette is getting some love over his ability for catching balls. He has solid hands and does pretty damn good in open space. Jesus we are stacked. Even if someone gets hurt we are stacked. With that kind of backfield, even the FB is complimented because the threat is lined up with him. Having an out over that left guard bloody nose we have now will be invaluable. I want to tackle the fridge right now just thinking about that backfield. But do we have a 1000 yard back this year? Over half of them are 1000 yard backs anywhere else, but it will be interesting to see if we try to red shirt somebody or just run the 4 headed monster, almost at will. Add in that receiving corps and it will be hard to see any 1 back rush for over a grand.
No. CEH will have over 1000 all purpose yards. Too many RB's dividing up the carries and with a 50-50 run/pass ratio like Oeaux says he wants there will be fewer attempts per game. Emery should get over 700. I can see Kyrion as the short yardage and goal line guy so he will get the most TD's without a whole lot of yardage. Maybe. I heard today that Kyrion, unlike most backs who were studs in high school will take the short yardage without trying to juke and jive and reverse the field trying to make the big play and risking a loss.
Emery Jr will have 1,500+ yards rushing “if he stays healthy” and competes in the 15 games possible ... averaging 100+ yards per game ... MARK IT After 12 scheduled games ... Emery Jr will have 1,200+ yards before the Championship game and playoffs REASON: Passing game, esp the long ball and deep route threats will open up those running lanes for huge runs ... Expecting Emery Jr has at least 2 or 3 huge runs each game (about half or maybe more than 1/2 his game totals) ... FOLKSES DON’T SEE WHAT DAT OEAUX ROCK IS COOKINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN GEAUX WATCH THE VIDEO ... 5-Star John Emery Jr is a beast ... Shades of Cecil the Diesel
I like CEH as an explosive RB/Rcvr ... Emery will get well over 700 ... Double that! Reason 1: LSU may run up to 20%* more plays in 2019 than they did in 2018 ... Imagine yardage and scoring if they run only 10% more plays in 2019 45+ ppg vs 33 in 2018 ... calc that? Reason 2: The Dee will 3 and out Tons of folks leaving the play total through the roof calc that? 17 or less ppg allowed in 2019? Down from too much over 20 ... All factors in ... 6000+ total yards with about half that rushing ... LSU Records?
Probably not if we are going to more of a 4 to 5 WR set as advertised along with throwing more to the backs and TE's. With the deep backfield we have now I see maybe one 800 yd rusher out of the bunch don't know who it will be should it happen.
Does it really matter for one player to get over an certain amount of yards for the season? I’d be perfectly fine with the 1-3 leading rushers getting 800, 700, & 300 yards.
I dont think it is a matter of whether any 1 back does, and I agree with you, but more to the point that given the stable, can 1 back reach 1000.
