I read about the commitments Les is getting at LSU, but is he offering too many guys too early? Are all of these kids gonna be 4 star and any 5 star players. Is Les looking at top talent outside of La.? Will there be spots left for some out of state blue chips?

I'm just wondering. What do you think of the recruiting activity so far?

All I've seen so far is concern over how few players Les was offering...Saban had around 150 schollies out this time last year, Les has ~75. Now I see people worried he's offering too many? I hope Les knows not to worry about what people think.

So in answer to the question, Philter says "Yes, Wayne Brady is indeed going to have to choke a bitch."

All you can do is trust that Coach Miles and his staff are qualified at determining who they should and should not offer. There are some players in the country that even we would be able to pick out, and those guys will get offers from every team in the country pretty much. The rest of the guys we offer will be the ones who the coaches feel will be the best available guys that fit what they are looking for based on needs, character, grades and of course ability.

Well he just got a commitment from DT Al Woods, possibly the best player in the state. I'd say he is doing fine.

I think LSU will pick up alot of good recruits regardless as long as they do well this year. Recruits will see 2 things: Les Miles can coach (if they do well this year), and LSU is losing an crapload of starters.

There is even real talk amongst the rivals guys as to whether Woods is the top DT in the nation. He will get a strong look at that spot, it's up to him and how he plays this year.

I think it is on track. LSU finished #22 in total recruiting last January. But LSU signed only 13 players because of the 85-scholarship limit. If you rank the teams by the quality of player (star average) you get a truer picture of how Miles' recruits.

    1. Southern California 3.95
    2. Florida State 3.82
    3. Miami 3.82
    4. LSU 3.69

I think Miles is going after talented players and since LSU will be signing 25+ this year, look for another top-10 recruting year.

Thanks for the opinions! I realize its kinda early. The Woods commit looks real good, and the linebacker from Lafayette area.

Depends on how our season goes.

If LSU wins the West, I am sure he will.

If LSU wins 8-9 games and no West, I am sure he still can.

We have everything someone wants to come here
