IMO, both terms, Conservative and Liberal, have been assigned a negative connotation by their opponents. That said, both are terms that describe ones political persuasion, not ones character, as political opponents would often have us believe.

Purple Tiger....I could care less what you think of my political persuasions. I understand you have a hard time believing anyone could be objective or open minded because it has become overwhelmingly obvious that you are not. If you want to call me names like a second grader then go ahead....I've been called worse than liberal a time or two. Sticks and stones, my friend....sticks and stones. LOL....

For the record I have now voted in five Presidential elections, which is every election I have been eligible to vote in, and I have voted for Republicans 2 out of 5 times. Real liberal, huh?

I agree with your statement that the majority of people are in the middle of the political spectrum ideologically. Human beings are far more complex than a two party system where you have to believe the answer to problem #1 has to be either A or B and can never be "None of the Above."

I tend to favor fiscal conservatism because every day Americans like me and you have to do the same with our personal finances month after month. As the recovery gains steam I would like to see the government intervention completely subside. Due to the depths of the recession I have favored limited government involvement but as the economy recovers, we need to get government out of it.

On social issues I tend to favor the liberal stances. Just like I do not want the government involved in the economy unless critically necessary, I also do not want the Republicans trying to dictate what goes on in bedrooms, injecting their faith into medical procedures, defining marraige or nationalizing the English language. To some degree both parties favor Big Government, just different in their approaches.

Only in the deep south do people get their educations from forwarded emails. Obama is a Muslim....a wolf in sheep's clothing. McCain has a love child with a black slave. Osama bin Laden is still alive....the list goes on.

    Jesus, people. Really?

    Forwarded emails?

If someone casts a ballot based on something that they read in a forwarded email, then God help us all.

As I travel the country, I see how uneducated the Deep South really is.....and it's really starting to concern me.

Not at all....1992 was the first election I was eligible to vote in and my voting record since has been as follows:

    1992 - George H.W. Bush
    1996 - Bill Clinton
    2000 - George W. Bush
    2004 - John Kerry
    2008 - Barack Obama

I just read HR 347, and i think that interpretation is a huge reach. It specifies that I can't block Obama from entering or leaving a government building in order to make him hear my protest, or get physical with him in any way. I don't read into it that I can't stand outside and waive my sign at him, or shout through a bullhorn while he enters or leaves.
