LSU paid this guy one of the top salaries in college football to learn, and now he can beat LSU. Not to happy we made that investment to further his education. I don't know about being a better coach this year, you can hardly say he's really challenging himself much. maybe that's part of his analyzing situations though. Virginia Tech *at Texas A&M Colorado State Ole Miss Georgia State *at Kentucky Arkansas Tennessee LSU *at Mississippi Chattanooga *at Auburn
The roster was not loaded, it had some damn good players but by no means was it loaded. My point was Saban couldn't recruit just using his name when he got to LSU. I know you like to play devils advocate but you are off here.
And by the way, he never posted a 10 game winning season before LSU, only finished 2nd with Michigan State once, all the other seasons he did no better than 5th in the big 10. Not to mention a 45-26 beat down to the 95 Tigers. So again I say LSU made nick Saban, not the other way around.
I'd say he came into LSU with a great group of players. Remember this, the last game in the Gerry era, Hal Hunter pistol whipped Ar-kansas 35-10, an it wasn't that close.Looking back, there was a ton of talent when he came to LSU. Some forget the players on that team... Fred Booker Ryan Clark (Still playing in the NFL) Tommy Banks Eric Edwards What about some of the players drafted out his first roster? You are wrong here. I've posted those names, and how many were drafted, who were already here, so many times that I may have deleted my word document but will look when I get home and get back witcha. EDIT: Nevermind, I see Perple has already done so. I'd say EFFIN LOADED, wouldn't you? Thanks Perple.
Hal Hunter was the interim coach against Ark, anyone want to guess the job he took after leaving LSU? Hint: Cam Cameron.......
