Geez, islstl! The season needs to start SOON because if you keep focusing on recruiting, you're likely going to give yourself a stroke! Relax man....it's going to be fine. Trust us. CParso's post above is right on!
It is not that the star ratings do not matter, but too many people put too much weight on them. Two star and three star athletes often become major producers. Secondly, three stars do not indicate marginal to decent players. They indicate mid-major players. In other words they fall in the middle of the pack of prospects who are considered major recruits. As far as QB is concerned, LSU has Perriloux and Lee waiting in the wings.
What I don't understand is why Coach Miles is not making as many offers as he is. There are some top Louisiana and out-of-state athletes who are still waiting. Why? Miles should have offered Jordan Jefferson by now, but he has not. I could understand it earlier when it became apparent that Louisiana did not have much talent this year as compared to previous years, and Miles wanted to take a good look at OOS athletes. But it is time now to start making offers. Am I right to be concerned?
Miles's staff refuses to commit to anyone they have not seen in person, but we have 16 commitments with a star average of over 3 and some four/five star recruits offered that we feel good about. I think we should be selective with the last few and the farther we go into the season, the more likey we are to sign them.....if our season plays out the way most believe it will. Everyone wants their program to pick up the "Big name" recruits but other than USC, who has 3 5-star recruits committed, The rest have 2 and mostly 1 5-star committed. We have a couple of 4's we feel good about and a couple of rumors about a couple of others de-committing and coming to LSU (And you have to take those with a grain of salt but it speaks towards the fact that it's early and a lot can/will still happen). :thumb: LSU has never pulled a scholly and Miles doesn't play around about commiting and visiting other schools after you commit, they like to make sure they are getting exactly what they are getting.
Because Miles has a policy. Once you commit there are no more visits unless given permission. Above all else he lied about visiting Bama when he claimed he was at a funeral. Reports also stated that Davis tried to text the LSU coaches after getting his scholly pulled.
