Why the low rushing totals?

one more reason is few offensive plays/big plays.

there would be many more rushing yds if there wasnt THE punt return, two pick sixes and three(?) long pass plays for TD.

    3rd down conversion rate

    LSU- 17/54 = 31%

NCAA FBS leader is UW at 58%

    median is 38%

    if you include 4th down, 3/8 = 38% = 17/54=20/62 = 32%.

so thats pretty crappy. id like to think its conservative playcalling because LSU has typically had comfortable leads in the 2nd half.

thats horrendous and usually indicative of a young or not so good qb.

this cant happen tomorrow if we expect to win.

Somethings gotta give, LSU offense or Georgia's defense!
    If I'm a betting man I'll take LSU's offense.
I also think CLM's will have some surprises for Georgia!:milesmic:

This is a very significant point. Come to think of it, Les said it recently in an interview...those quick strikes (especially on Defense and S.T.'s) are essentially lost possessions.

And it should also be noted that if not for the S.T.'s lost yardage in the Miss State game (shouldn't count in offensive stats, IMO), we rushed for close to 90. Not good, but better than 30!!!

IDK...it just doesn't quite SEEM like Scott is averaging 4+ YPC...did he hit a couple of big ones that I'm not remembering? Is it happening on third down and long, where he picks up six or seven but not enough to sustain the drive?

I guess I'm answering my own questions. Obnoxious, I know...:hihi:

Les Miles can spin all of that stuff, but the running game (based on our talent vs. who we have played) has not panned out at all as of yet.

Those other plays might take away some, but the production when we have had the ball has been what it has been so far. There's no getting around that.

Attack Tiger, I know Scott had some big gains at the end of the ooh la la game. In general, if we run the ball in a short yardage situation, we're not getting what we need. So the 4 yds/carry is not as effective as it might seem just looking at stats.

Our longest run on the year is 21 yards!

Blocking is the main key...but I don't see our RBs running forward with full speed very often. They have to use their size to their advantage and hit people with steam.
